System Engineer
Yokogawa UK has an exciting opportunity for a talented Systems Safety Engineer with high development potential and a can-do attitude. You will work as part of a cross border team and report to the Team Lead.
The role is permanent, based in our Aberdeen or Runcorn office.
Key Responsibilities
· Primarily you will assume a project delivery role.
· Work in the project team to design and deliver new Yokogawa Pro-Safe hardwired safety control systems in accordance with Yokogawa’s lifecycle and engineering practices.
· Design and execute modification workscopes for existing Yokogawa Pro-Safe hardwired safety control systems in accordance with Yokogawa’s lifecycle and engineering practices.
· On occasions you may also be expected to assume a support role, by attending our client onshore/offshore sites to carry out maintenance, installation and commissioning activities.
· Support our sales team to deliver quotations by preparing sales supports for projects/modifications/renewals of the support contracts.
· Develop customer awareness of Yokogawa safety engineering capabilities.
· Assist in supporting the department with the development / maintenance of all necessary procedures & documentation associated with IEC61508/61511 certification.
· Assist with Training when requested, and to ensure full conversancy with the latest versions of Safety Shutdown & Distributed Control Systems.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· Recognised qualification in either Electrical / Mechanical / Control Engineering or equivalent.
· BOSIET/medical certificates or prepared to undergo training on commencement of the post.
· Experience with the maintenance of Safety Shutdown & Distributed Control Systems onshore and offshore.
· Knowledge of IEE 17th edition wiring regulations.
· Wiring experience is desirable.
· Functional safety experience, as well as certification is desirable.
· Minimum of 3-5 years relevant industry experience.
· Can demonstrate a good understanding of relay logic and PLCs.
· Experience using Autocad.
· Experience using Windows and Office Applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
