Operations Manager - USA

The Opportunity & Role

We are working with Daifuku (Daifuku Cleanroom Automation America Corporation) in the US. Daifuku is the leader in its field and provides cleanroom AMHSs (Automated Material Handling Systems) that automate semiconductor and flat panel production to users across the globe. These AMHSs produce minimal amounts of dirt, keep vibration levels low, and ensure excellent reliability to facilitate operations at cutting-edge semiconductor and flat panel plants. Reporting into the Executive Senior Manager for Install, the role of Operations Manager will lead a team of 12-16, some of whom will be remote, mostly within the US.

The role will involve 20-25% travel, both domestically and internationally.

While the management of projects lies with the Project Management team, you would be responsible for the people in your team, who will be involved in differing projects. To enable consistent management of the team and with an eye to long-term performance, you will manage the field staff undertaking the installs - ensuring performance issues are dealt with, training is tracked consistently, scheduling and ensuring certifications are up to date. You will need to have sufficient technical experience to understand the work undertaken by the field team. Training will be provided, especially in the area of safety.

You will have budget responsibility for raising PO’s for materials, tools and some resources.

Location The role is based at one of Daifuku’s sites / FABs in the US in certain locations in Arizona, Texas or Oregon.

Person Specification

• Strong leader, with focus on employee engagement

• Ideally experience of managing remote workers

• Service Leadership awareness

• Ideally automation experience within material handling or the semiconductor industry

• Budget handling experience

• SAP Experience is ideal but not essential

•Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Technical (Mechanical or Electrical) field is a plus.

•Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required
