Business Development Manager

REPORTS TO Sales Director

LOCATION UK/Hull

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the  Sales Director, the Business Development Manager will be integral part of the sales time focusing on panels and intercompany sales. Almost entirely sales target driven, you will have a desire to overachieve and continually push for more

In addition you will, build and develop effective working relationships with customers and staff. A senior sales manager with truly global sales experience.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• To increase new Business (while maintaining recurring business) with regard to panels and intercompany sales
• Plan work to create sales growth, new account acquisition, continued account penetration, and maintain customer satisfaction on a long-term basis.
• Develop and nurture existing and new accounts in order to maintain strong relationships and a have a good understanding of their current and future business needs and directions.
• Meet or exceed sales order booking objectives. Build and maintain a pipeline of business opportunities.

HOURS OF WORK TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

37 hours per week Local and International. Office, airport and industrial environment.

IV) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Key Activities

·         Identify customers and key players in the market and create customer intimacy especially with, Daifuku intercompany and business partners. ·         Identify project opportunities and stakeholders.
·         Assess and qualify sales enquiries, lead presentations and production of proposals.
·         Access and assess market intelligence and report on competitors' activities and products.
·         Attend exhibitions, conferences, meetings, and training sessions.
·         Manage the tender process from start to finish.
·         Prioritise leads and help identify relevant trends and new products.
·         Build and maintain our customer base.
·         Be able to review in detail estimates, identify gaps and proposing changes.

V) JOB REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

·         Entrepreneurial in your approach comfortable having to define and then driving strategy and pricing and having the courage to know when to walk away.

·         Conveyor equipment expertise.
·         Knowledge of airport equipment baggage handling projects.
·         Knowledge of warehousing conveyors would be advantageous.
·         Ability to speak other languages.
·         Proven track record of setting and exceeding business sales targets.
·         Relationship and network building capabilities. Enthusiasm and passion for other people’s interests and needs.
·         Strong appetite to sell, desire to regularly close profitable business and a resilient mind set.
·         Basic understanding of contracts and business risk.
·         Good listening skills, adaptable to all stakeholders and situations.
·         Positive, engaging, structured, concise communication skills.
·         Solid negotiations techniques, balancing the short-term with strategic view and adapting to cultural differences of buyers (companies and individuals)
·         Expertise in organising professional presentations and other sales and marketing materials.

Ability to build strong relations at all levels of both prospect/group organisation

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical or Electronics and/or Post - Graduate in Sales and Marketing.
• Over 5 years of professional working background in High-Value Project Sales & Capital Goods Sales Management and Business Development.
• Industry should be mix of product mechanical, electrical control.
